#Fiseyi 2015

Sunday, December 27, 2015
Hey guys! Compliments of the season!! This past weekend I was at Fikayo & Seyi's wedding. i got to see my kogi goons again ( moro, Ay and Essien) and we had a good time! I also went with my sister(the fine lady in a green dress :))  because she and the bride were coursemates. The reception was really interesting from the appetizers..to the dancing (a lot of dancing) to the buffet (I was stuffed) I really enjoyed myself. I was with my camera so I decided to take pictures of people I thought dressed really well for the wedding and I hope we share the same thoughts. Let me use this medium to congratulate #Fiseyi and wish them a blessed married life.

Public Speking Cocktail 2015

Wednesday, December 23, 2015
The Public Speaking Cocktail held on the 3rd of this month. This one was smaller than the one that held prior to it, that not withstanding it was fun. It consisted a lot of cheerful people, delicacies, music and general good vibes amongst other things.
A considerable amount of people were in attendance and they participated in the activities organised for the night other than the regular mingling, wining and dinning. Then everyone was really pumped for the group photos; a lot of people were spotted photo bombing and were just generally hyped up.
The event was kinda short (shout-out to Hebron FM), So we tried our best to capture as many individual outfits in the time we had and I must say there were so many cool ones. But the group pictures were predominant.
As the event came to an end we received words from the coordinator of the class and former Registrar of The University Dr. Muyiwa Oludayo. Oh yeah there was a surprise appearance by the Dean of students who also gave a speech.
Hope you enjoy the post as much as we enjoyed covering it.

Mask In

Sunday, December 6, 2015
During this Holiday Christmas season we are totally obsessed with Carnivals, Festivals, bright colours and, my personal favourite, masks. Not everyone agreed with the mask but they were considerably out-voted.

3-D Printed Fashion

Friday, November 20, 2015
We're living in an age everything we do involves technology in one way or the other. It's reaching a level where even what we imagine can be brought to life before our very eyes, taking note of and creating each feature to the last detail of our design of what we've imagined without us killing ourselves giving life to these ideas.

Sunday's Best: Steady

Tuesday, November 10, 2015
Hi everyone, how's it going?
I'm sure things must be concluding putting things together for the forth coming examinations.
This past week was packed with a number of fun activities especially the Lovathon,
which went pretty well even with the rain.
I liked the variety of the outfits. A number of them were not so ostentatious,
yet they were still elegant and looked so nice.
Also, after the service there were some pictures taken by several photographers to promote the patriotism I guess and Nigeria generally. They should be surfacing really soon I hope.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone, especially Sipo of STJ Photography for his contributions to this post. For more of his work you can check out his Instagram page: STJPHOTOGRAPHY_

Denim On Denim

Saturday, November 7, 2015

There is the art you create when you put on a pair of jeans; shorts or trousers alike. It is quite easy to fall in love with denim; it doesn't judge you, understands your body and always there through those tough and stressful times in life which is basically what you look for in a dream girl.
I think makers of clothes understood this when they started making it in shorts, shirts and skirts.

Sunday's Best!

Tuesday, November 3, 2015
Hi guys! How's it going?  Hope preparations are coming together well as we are in the penultimate week to to the examinations. The last couple of day have been hectic as there's been a lot of activities and I expect some more to come.
Presently on my radar at the is the Lovathon by Project One Million which has promise to be so much fun. Apparently there's going to be paint balling, which I'm looking forward to the most as the activities span through the weekend.
Finally, there were actually a lot of birthdays on the day, so we would like wish everyone who celebrated their birthdays a happy belated birthday. Long life prosperity and what not... I hope there's still cake left over for your boy.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone, especially Sipo of STJ Photography for his contributions to this post. For more of his work you can check out his Instagram page: STJPHOTOGRAPHY_

Sunday's Best: Incomplete

Wednesday, October 28, 2015
Hi guys, How's it going?
Personally i've been better thanks for asking.
I'm going to start on a sad note, I had some problems with my computer, so I lost some files including some of the pictures from Sunday. *tears* So I spent most of my time this last couple of days trying to recover them. (Edakun someone should come and buy me a mac book.)
On the upside there a still a couple of really cool pictures & outfits I was still able to compile, though most of them were from the second service. If we took your picture and its missing we're sorry and we hope we can make it up to you in subsequent weeks.
By the way sunday was a very eventful day, you know reflections concert held  and there was a flash mob for the Lovathon by Project One Million. Oh yeah you should watch out for the main Lovathon Event which holds in the beginning of November, it's going to be really fun and it's for a good cause.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone, especially Sipo of STJ Photography for his contributions to this post. For more of his work you can check out his Instagram page: STJPHOTOGRAPHY_

I would like to introduce you to Sapphire designs, a company that creates their own garments and accessories. Specifically bespoke suits, pocket squares and  hand crafted lapel pins.
We had an opportunity to work with them on a shoot to showcase some of the pieces from their collection. It was an interesting experience and the designs of the suits were actually very cool.

Sunday's Best: Spotted

Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Hi everyone, how's it going?
Well this past week the  annual Eagles Summit held and as a result there were a lot of activities. As a result of that we got to meet a lot of amazing Eagle photographers notably Bayo Rotilu of Twelve.05 Photography and Ken Tucker the Get The Look by Jumia Fashion guy who was also present and took some shots after the service.
Well this Sunday I spotted a lot of trends from the outfits after the service, notably waistcoats and several hats/ head accessories which were actually really cool. Also, James of Ordinary and Art was present (*Screams*) and it was a good day overall.

Skirt Story: TwentySix

Friday, October 16, 2015
Can we play a game? I call it skirting, but you can call it what you like. The rules are simple.
First to spot 20 quality and beautiful skirts wins. Have you seen any yet? Yes? No? Well TwentySix is in the building so I don't know where you were looking. Cool name right? That's what I said too.
I grew up in a time where the debate of skirts and trousers for virtuous women was still very much a tussle: granted, trousers were beginning to win but skirts were still largely prevalent,
 especially in churches.
So I came to the realization that a good skirt to a lady is as important as the body putting it on and more than most pieces of clothing, to ladies, skirts are very personal. It's usually a direct reflection of one's personality, character disposition and mood. Usually people say they would rather wear a pair of jeans or any kind of trouser (sweatpants included) for flexibility and utility, so when you eventually see a lady in skirt, she is usually passing on a message, she means business and there is usually a story in there.

Sunday's Best: 28

Tuesday, October 13, 2015
Hi everyone! Hope everything's going great.
Last Sunday there wasn't really anything out of the ordinary going on, but it was kinda difficult to get all the people we would have liked to get especially at the end of the first service.
That not withstanding we were still able to compile a couple of cool outfits after all.
Hope you enjoy them!

How To Style: Button-Up Shirts

Saturday, September 26, 2015
There is an increasing exchange of clothing between men and women, but one I can’t judge is the shirt. The shirt as a piece of fashion ensemble is getting ludicrously important and transgender. Your girlfriend can raid your wardrobe at anytime and it wouldn't be entirely wrong. Some dresscodes require solid shirts and blazers for both genders so you can't blame anybody. As to which gender really has claim to shirts as their unique wardrobe piece is no longer certain.

Sunday's Best: #Anticipate

Tuesday, September 22, 2015
Hi everyone! How's everything going this week?
By the way this week O&A turns 1! So watch this space there are going to be a number of post and activities, Hope you would be able to participate and join in the celebration.
This past sunday was really packed. There we're actually a number of birthdays, so we wish everyone from last week a happy belated birthday. We were able to get a number of cool outfits, awesome shots, I got to see and meet a lot of amazing people this week. That has really got me looking forward to next week, if you know what I mean.
Then James Emmanuel (My Ninja, My Ninja *singing*) was in the building *crowd screams*, I know right, Calm Calm. Though our shoot later in the day was postponed,
we were still able to do a lot.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone, especially Sipo of STJ Photography for his contributions to this post. For more of his work you can check out his Instagram page: STJPHOTOGRAPHY_

Sunday Best Takes Uyo

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

It was another rainy Sunday, as if we don’t already have enough of that yet. Ordinary and Art hit the city of Uyo with it’s famous Sunday Best edition and we went to 3 churches. Of course people are new to the idea so we got a couple of NO’s (and one guy even said he didn’t want this personality to be compromised), but we got more YES’s and we want to appreciate everyone that made this edition a success.
Thanks to Mmek and Idy (Iyawo) for organising and pleading with people to have their pictures taken.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

What started off as a normal day of fashion shoot for the blog turned into an adventure of varying lights, outfits, caps, street style, laughter, wardrobe change, small restaurants, and experiments.

Sundays Best: Defence!

Wednesday, July 22, 2015
Hi everyone, how are preparations for exams coming? I hope everything is going alright.
Last Sunday a number of things happened, notably the Academic Integrity Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to discourage people from exam malpractice. We were able to capture pictures of the people who were in support of the campaign. As usual we were able to capture people in their awesome outfits after the service. Enjoy!

New Street Style

Thursday, July 9, 2015
Keep your eye on that Kimono for a bit. Brilliant! The gladiator sandals, diamond neck jewel, pencil pant. This is a new level of street style from Flo. The edge that this outfit provides is greatly enhanced by the choice of make-up (did someone say eyeliner?). She can do a lot of poses which is due in part to the Kimono, which on its own has become a trend and a must have for every girl out there.

Sundays Best: Admirable Thanksgiving

Wednesday, July 1, 2015
I want to use this opportunity to really appreciate the Ordinary and Art community, all the beautiful men and women who made the season a successful one. We asked, you posed, we snapped and we made it together. You people are truely the art that changed us from ordinary to extraordinary. Agbada, Danshiki, Abeti-aja, Mola Style, Iro and Buba, Usiogho, Kaftan, Sebator....name any of those native styles you argued with your tailor for, we had it on ground during last Sunday's Best. Head gears, caps, hats, staffs, beads and other accessories came in handy especially since the dance in church demanded full flowing regalias. It was a generous display of whites and purples, and girls went from rich simple gowns to superfluous dresses of sorts.
I can't complain, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Admirable Dinner

Saturday, June 27, 2015
The much anticipated Admirable Last Dinner finally took place on Monday, the 22nd of June 2015, and O&A surely turned up. When I heard the theme was black and white, I was really anticipating what the admirable ordinary and art community will pull off knowing what they can do, and they didn't fall hands (*pardon my pidgin*). We had outfits ranging from old English, to French, to African traditional attires and we covered every inch of it. At a point though, I felt like the most interesting part of the evening was the fashion, because not too many things were done right. By the way, am still waiting for my food......,*yawns*. I kind of have a best dressed in mind but I will like to hear your comments to find if it's who I think it is.

The Urban-Retro

Wednesday, June 3, 2015
Hi everyone, hope your'e doing good and the holidays are going well. Aside from the fuel scarcity
things are looking up, I mean they just have to be looking up.
A while ago we did a collaborative shoot with my mainest guy, Campus Heat photographer of the year, Portait and Lifestyle photographer, Midewey (please, please  hold your appalause,
okay maybe just a little more, its okay stop shouting & yes i actually know him I'm not just famzing).
In this post we decided to center our attention on the vinatge trend. Vintage outfits could be described as fashion reminiscent of the past. It could also be considered as retro. Till now trends are being reincarnated and some of the styles from the past have now become fashionable again.
We were able to present some of these trends from the different eras with help from our amazing models to convey different messages describing their outfits and at times their personalities.
The shoot was a bit hectic for us because we kinda had a lot on our plate that day,
but in the end it was a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the post.

PS: We would like to appreciate everyone that helped make the post possible.
